Lilacs

The lilacs are coming! The lilacs are coming!

My most favoritest flowers!

When I was a kid my grandfather planted a lilac bush outside my bedroom window. I had to be only about 5 years old, and we moved from that house when I was 7, but since then they’be been my favorite flower, the smell, the color, the totally springiness of them!

Two lilac bushes came with our yard, lucky me!

Lilacs are one of the things I DO miss about the northeast. There are very few here. We did plant a bush when we moved in, but it has just about finished for this year. Breath in some of the scent for me!

I grew up with lilacs, too… and we have one growing next to our front porch. It hasn’t started blooming yet, but looks like it is going to soon. The bigger ones down the street are already in bloom. I’m not sure why this one doesn’t bloom as well or as much as the others.

I remember when my family moved from Brooklyn to “the country” everyone loved the lilacs in our yard. We had one purple and one white.
